Halston Heritage - Fall 2018

So Marie Mazelis is the Creative Director of Halston. But she was also the head designer at BCBG and Hervé Leger, which, now that I think about it, makes complete sense: it's a never ending party at all of these labels and Mazelis knows how to keep the music going.
The St. John Hansh Sequin Knit Dress
Shop: St. John Knits
Here's a master class of elegance in a single photo.
The perpetually chic Julia Stegner aside, this knee length dress from St. John has the right amount of sparkle and texture. It's cut perfectly along the body — revealing and reserved.
Capped with a pair of ankle strap silver heels, I can't imagine anyone who could turn away from such harmony.

Veronica Beard - Resort 2018

There's this style called rich-girl hair and it is IN. You could probably break off into a discussion about the privilege of wealthy women and healthy hair as a symbol of social power, but that's not what we're about here. It's just normal straight hair with a wavy bend in the middle. It's how I wear my hair, so I can say that all you need is a round brush, a dryer, and a reminder to not over do it with the shampoo.
Veronica Beard's theme this collection is apparently less resort and more "cool teen from Connecticut being featured in Teen Vogue because her mom is an editor at Architectural Digest and has major pull at Condé Nast". Which explains the hair, obviously. Sarcasm aside, it all looks fantastic. Though I may be biased because of the great hair and natural lighting.
I do especially like the dark olive military jacket, which forgoes all the usual feminine trims apart from all those wildflowers creeping past the epaulettes. The mini-skirt is a light touch, and again, very Teen Vogue.

Some artists say that only beauty will save the world and I tend to agree. But it must be beauty in every sense of the word. The beauty of humility, honour, truth, and for the purposes of this post, a bit of style for measure.
I love this collection. The team at Narciso Rodriguez have an amazing interpretation of femininity that I think the world needs to experience more of. More grace. More sparkle. More magic.

Zuhair Murad has been to the future and I'm so happy to report that disco comes back.
Lanvin - Spring 2017

This week belongs to Lanvin and Bouchra Jarrar. And Bouchra Jarrar gets it: there is no singular Lanvin woman, but women who buy Lanvin. She created a collection to inspire, to celebrate the very best of what life has to offer. This, no less, is the gilded mark of a high dressmaker.
As for the details, what I loved most was the use of a honey gold wide band mesh necklace as a bow and the fact that every woman's individuality and femininity was used to her fullest.
